Linda Panattoni has created these adorable 'torn bear' paper crafts, based on the
bears in Craft Clipart 1: Bears/Miscellaneous set. She writes:
'The bears are done in applique method. You use Handmade paper
or Handmade Mulberry (that's the name of the paper). It looks like handcast
paper you get at the scrapbook store. I got some on line via ebay.
You trace the pieces onto the backside of the paper, then you wet around your
traced line. You then need to hold your thumb on the line and pull away from
you with the other hand to get the furry look. I then use chalk to go around
the torn pieces. I use a dry stencil brush and brush outwards. If you have
ever done fabric applique it is the same piecing method. The technique is very
simple.'
